See the Legendary Coach of the Mojave
Running from Harmony Borax
Mine in Death Valley to the railroad loading docks in Mojave, the Twenty Mule
Team Trail ran 165 miles through some of the harshest terrain imaginable between
1884 and 1889. A round trip required 20 days. Portions of the trail are still
visible today.
California City’s
Borax Bill Park, one of the watering holes along the trail, is named for Twenty
Mule Team driver Bill Parkinson. It is now a favorite rest stop for OHV riders.
